The human side of America's celebrities.


Once more the difficult time has brought out the generosity of celebrities and the corporate giants across the U.S. which have opened their hearts and their bank accounts donating upwards of $141.3 million to the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

The first donation of $1 million came out from Leonardo DiCaprio's foundation to the newly-established United Way Harvey Recovery Fund. Followed by actress Sandra Bullock who donated also $1 million to American red Cross.

While Comedian Ellen DeGeneres gave $1 million to Watt’s fund-raiser and Tyler Perry donated also $1 million to various relief funds.

The actor Kevin Hart who set up a crowd-funding page that has exceeded to $1 million dollars donated $50,000 to Hurricane Harvey relief in Texas and challenged other Hollywood stars like Steve Harvey, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Justin Timberlake to help out the Hurricane Harvey Relief.

The sports team of New York, the Giants has donated $1 million to the American Red Cross and the Houston Food Bank.

Sixty-three companies have pledged $1 million or more, including Bank of America, Verizon, Coca-Cola, Google, IBM, Shell and JPMorgan Chase.

The NFL star J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans, who started the online fund-raiser with a goal of $200,000 and by Friday, he raised to more than $15.4 million.

The Happy Hippie Foundation of Miley Cyrus donated $500,000 and rapper Drake donated $200,000, saying, “Houston has always been like a second home to me.”

"Supernatural" star and Texas native Jensen Ackles is leading a charge to mobilize their fans to raise money for the recovery effort. Today the effort has risen to more than $322,073. Ackles and his wife, Danneel, who lives with their family in Austin, have donated a $50,000.

There are lots of announcement from celebrities with the promise that they will be helping out the Harvey relief by donating money.

Top of the list is President Donald Trump who announced on Thursday that would be donating $1 million to Hurricane Harvey relief in Houston, though the White House says he hasn't determined which group or groups will receive the contribution.

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez announced they would donate a collective of $50,000.

The Kardashian family also announced they would collectively donate 500,000 dollars to the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

Beyonce, announced that her philanthropic organization BeyGOOD would be helping but she didn’t declare the exact amount.
